Saugeen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary presented its final commitment donation to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) for the new MRI equipment.
The Auxiliary had committed $50,000 and, on Wednesday, November 10th, the final payment of $17,000 was made.
The government does not provide any funding to hospitals for equipment and, therefore, funds must come from donations and fundraising campaigns.
This year, due to COVID-19, fundraising is anticipated to be exceptionally challenging with many events have been cancelled. Events that will continue for Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation are the ‘Light the Way’ campaign and fourth annual ‘Radiothon’ on December 12th.
