Due to Covid 19 travel restrictions and the uncertainty of how long travel will be affected, the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and RBC Meeting Place have decided to cancel the Cruise for Healthcare planned for May 2021. We believe it is better to air on the side of caution and not promote travel during this time. We understand this will be disappointing for those who planned to sail with us during this inaugural fundraiser.
The Hospital Foundation is happy to announce that RBC Meeting Place Port Elgin have graciously offered to donate their sponsorship funds from this fundraiser to the Hospital Foundation despite the fact that the Cruise for Healthcare has been cancelled.
Chloe Fleury, Assistant Branch Manager Advisor at RBC Meeting Place in Port Elgin stated “We are so proud of the great work our local Hospital and Hospital Foundation have been doing during this pandemic and we are happy to be able to help out during this time of need.”
With the loss of so many of its fundraising events the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation is so grateful for the continued support of local healthcare in the face of this epidemic both from local businesses like RBC Meeting Place and the amazing residents of Saugeen Shores and the surrounding communities.
“We would like to thank RBC Meeting Place Port Elgin and Destinations Unlimited for their partnership on this fun adventure. We look forward to working with these amazing organizations again in the future,” said Foundation Executive Director, Tracy Murray.
