In Memory of Jake Zinn

This is a tribute to the memory of Jake Zinn who passed away on June 10, 1986. Jake was a well-respected and loved husband, father, son, brother and friend.

Jake was an active member of our community and achieved the honour of being a Distinguished President of the South-Port Optimist Club. Jake enjoyed playing slow-pitch baseball with the Brown’s Auto Supplies Team. He was also an avid bowler in local leagues.

Jake would have been proud of his son, Myke and daughter, Val, as I am. They have grown up to be “Good People”. He would have been happy to welcome our son-in-law, Simon into our family. Needless to say, Jake would have loved our Granddaughter, “The Marvelous Miss Maeve” to bits.

Jake had a sharp wit and a quiet sense of humour which endeared him to many. Upon this, the fortieth anniversary of his passing, here’s to Jake’s legacy that can be found in the Optimist Creed…

“Promise yourself to be too large for worry,
too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.”

Forever in my heart,
Brenda
