Bruce Power is pleased to welcome KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company, Inc. (KEPCO E&C) to Saugeen Shores. KEPCO E&C held an official opening of its Canadian office at 733 Goderich Street in Port Elgin on October 29th.

Richard Horrobin, Bruce Power’s Vice President & Managing Director, Supply Chain, Finance and Commercial Services, offered his congratulations to KEPCO E&C for joining the local community.
“KEPCO E&C joins almost 60 nuclear companies that have established a local presence in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties,” Horrobin said. “Opening its offices in Port Elgin will allow KEPCO E&C to integrate itself into the community by supporting local programs and hiring local people. We look forward to growing our relationship and welcome KEPCO E&C.”
Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, praised KEPCO E&C for expanding its business into Ontario. “By leading missions like our recent one to South Korea and Japan, we can bring new investments to Ontario, opening up new markets and bringing more jobs to Ontario,” Fedeli said. “We welcome companies like KEPCO and we look forward to continuing to build these important relationships with our trading partners all around the world.”
Associate Minister of Energy Bill Walker also welcomed KEPCO E&C to the region.
“The Life-Extension Program underway at Bruce Power continues to be a driving force in our local community,” Walker said. “Nuclear energy is the backbone of our electricity system and the work being done at Bruce Power is drawing companies like KEPCO to the region, creating good jobs, new investment and ensuring Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound and our province are open for business.”
KEPCO E&C, which is based on Gimcheon-si, South Korea, has been providing engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services for nuclear power plants in the domestic and international markets since 1975. KEPCO E&C brings its world class technology and guiding principle of “Customer First” to the Canadian nuclear market. KEPCO E&C provides engineering services as well as procurement services for the four CANDU units at Wolsong in addition to its responsibility for the third generation APR1400 PWR design which is being built in South Korea and Abu Dhabi.
