Lamont Bleacher campaign complete

The Lamont Sports Park Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign has hit another milestone after securing donors for all 18 Fan Bleacher spots, bringing in $90,000 over the course of the campaign.

“We want to thank those who donated to our Fan Bleacher program,” says Committee Co-Chair Rob Stanley.  “Those gifts are key to help reach our fundraising goal, and the names of those donors will be recognized at the park for 20 years”

Now the Committee is seeking public donations to raise $50,000 for two batting cages for youth skills development and a storage facility for minor baseball, as well as to help fund a 200-person pavilion for community use.

During the week of August 8th, residents will receive a Lamont Sports Park card in the mail outlining that the campaign is in its public phase to raise that $50,000.

“This is an opportunity for residents to really make an impact on this campaign,” says Committee Co-Chair Mike Myatt. “We want the public to feel a sense of ownership for this world class facility.  We want the Park to be a place where people come together, and every donation brings us closer to that goal.”

Those who wish to donate can go to www.saugeenshores.ca/lamontsportsparkdonations/.

Phase One of the park is set to open in May 2023.  The Town has hired a Prime Consultant to design Phase Two consisting of two youth ball diamonds and an accessible playground. When the overall goal is reached by the end of the August 2022, the Town will move forward with the plans for the batting cages, storage building and pavilion.
