Lessons and Carols service helps others

Each year, Saugeen Shores Ministerial hosts the ‘Lessons and Carols’ service with the Chantry Singers at Southampton United Church.

The service that leads into the Christmas season is a favourite in the community and is a free-will offering in support of the Women’s Housing Serving Bruce and Grey.

According to Treasurer, Sheree Lake, since 2013, $16,579 has been donated to the Women’s House and, this year, the Chantry Singers presented $1,515 to the Women’s House on Friday, December 12th.

“Our singing in the community that can bring relief to someone in need is one of the purposes of a community choir,” said Lake, “and is especially important in these difficult times.”
