Let your voice be heard about the North Shore Trail proposal

Lakeshore multi-use trail continues to be battered by Lake Huron

There are exactly four and one half days remaining to have your voice heard regarding the North Shore Trail along Lake Huron in Saugeen Shores.

In a previous release, Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneaus said that “The North Shore Trail is one of our community’s most popular attractions and we are interested to hear from everyone as Council considers this proposal.”

The proposal he refers to is the closing of one lane to traffic and open the remaining lane to cyclists and pedestrians.  The proposal is a result of the severe damage done to the multi-use trail by the extreme high water level waves of Lake Huron and the relentless winds eroding the trail.

The public can take the survey before Friday, June 5 at 12:00 pm (noon) by visiting the Town’s website at: SaugeenShores.ca/NorthShoreTrailSurvey.

According to the previous release, surveys and a letter were also mailed to residents in the affected area. If anyone needs a hard copy of the survey, they are encouraged to call (519) 832-2008 x125 to make arrangements, as the Municipal Office is currently closed to the public.
