December 13th is shaping up to be a big day for the local Saugeen Memorial Hospital.
Beginning at 6:00 a.m., 98 The Beach hosts the annual ‘Light the Way’ Radiothon fundraiser for 12 hours and donations can be made by calling 519-832-GIVE (4483) or donate on-line at Light the Way (www.lightthewaycampaign.ca )
The excitement continues outside in the park at 392 Waterloo Street behind the radio station when the Peewee Girls HL and Peewee Boys LL#2 teamswill be having a fun road hockey game to raise money for the Hospital. The game is part of the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup and the best team could win $100,000 which then goes to the charity of choice.
If you call the station, make sure to mention the hockey game or donate to a player on the one of the teams. If you can, make make your donation a gift to Peewee Hockey, so that they can tally the money raised. The teams will then give the money to the hospital. All the monies raised go to the hospital in Southampton.
The teams would love to have spectators come out and watch and bring a gently worn winter coat that will be donated to those in need.
