Each year, local schools in Saugeen Shores hold their annual Terry Fox fundraising runs and activities in support of Cancer research and treatment.
It was perfect weather for the Terry Fox run held at G. C. Huston Public School in Southampton on Thursday, September 26th (2024), following the main fundraiser held in Port Elgin on September 15th, that broke attendance and fundraising records.
The School holds two simultaneously runs – the junior grades around the outdoor sports field with the senior grades four to eight running around adjacent Fairy Lake.
When it comes to fundraising, G. C. Huston although one of the smallest schools in Saugeen Shores is always a major player.
Although no final total has yet been determined as donations continue to be received, G. C. Huston has reached $1,140 of its goal of $1,780.

Northport Elementary School $1,880 raised of $3,000 goal
Saugeen Central $1,436 raised of $2,000 goal
Saugeen District Senior School (SDSS) $860 raised of $3,000 goal
