Long-awaited Foodland Lobster Fest weekend

Every August 1st long weekend for more than 20 years, Southampton Foodland has held its Lobster Fest with lobster flown in from Nova Scotia.

This year, more than 800 lobsters were pre-ordered with most of them cooked by Foodland staff.

With Mother Nature cooperating with warm temperatures, people waited for their lobster while enjoying live entertainment.

“This is a highlight of our summer,” said one visiting resident.  “We look forward to this weekend every year.”

“We are already planning for next year’s weekend,” said Foodland owner, Martino Catalano, “and we may have some surprises in store.”
