New Deputy Fire Chief for Saugeen Shores

The Town of Saugeen Shores is pleased to announce that Anthony Woodruff has been appointed as the Town’s new Deputy Fire Chief.

Woodruff brings more than 18 years of fire service experience across suppression, fire prevention, fire investigation, training, and municipal governance.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Justice and Public Safety, a Municipal Administration Program Certificate, a Fire Service Executive Management Certificate, and NFPA 1021 Fire Officer IV certification. He is also a certified Fire Investigator and Fire Inspector, is qualified under the Ontario Building Code as a plans examiner and building inspector, and serves as an Adjunct Instructor and Lead Evaluator with the Ontario Fire College, delivering programs including Hazardous Materials and Ice Water Rescue.

Woodruff began his duties on September 21st and was formally appointment to Deputy Fire Chief through a Council By-law on September 28th (2026).

He succeeds Rob Atkinson who formerly held the position of Deputy-Chief prior to his appointment as Chief in July of this year.
