Lloyd Hale passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 7, 2025. Born in Jamaica, Lloyd Hale of Owen Sound, was in his 92nd year.
Beloved husband of the late Glassine Hale. Loving father of Carol, Edwin (Brenda), Elaine and Samantha (John). Cherished grandfather of Jazzmine, Aaron, Jordan, Sasha, Joshua and Jacob. Dear brother of Ivan. Lloyd will be missed by his daughter-in-law Martha, and by his nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his son Donald, parents Harvey and Lillian, and by his siblings Leslie, Monica and Arthur.
Lloyd was a man who served his community well. In Southampton, Ontario, he served as mayor and also served as the police commissioner.
A funeral service to celebrate Lloyd’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
