Popular Bruce Power Summer bus tours launch on June 3rd

Bruce Power is ready to welcome thousands of guests to its annual Summer Bus Tour Program, which begins June 3 and runs through Aug. 31.

More than 5,000 visitors toured the Bruce Power site in the summer of 2018, and the company expects interest in the world’s largest operating nuclear facility to be just as strong this summer. The tour begins at the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre with a short film in the 100-seat, air-conditioned theatre. After a security check of each person’s government-issued photo ID (for individuals over the age of 18), visitors board a bus for a tour of the 2,300-acre site.

“Our Summer Bus Tour program has become a must-do for residents of Bruce, Grey and Huron counties, and also for the many tourists who enjoy their summers on the shores of Lake Huron,” said James Scongack, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs & Operational Services. “Our Community and Indigenous Relations team once again have put together an informative and engaging program for our visitors.”

For the month of June, Bruce Power will operate one daily narrated tour Monday-Friday, starting at 1 p.m. In July and August, there will be three daily tours, seven days a week starting at 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m., with the exception of the statutory holidays on July 1 and Aug. 5.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended as space is limited, and participants will be able to reserve up to 10 spaces for friends and family members. Simply visit our third-party registration form and select your preferred date and time, the number of guests in your party and the required information for each visitor, including each participant’s full name, home address, and postal code. Visitors over the age of 18 require government-issued photo identification, while those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who can vouch for their identity.

Bruce Power is also supporting a day of tours for the Tiverton Old Boys and Girls Reunion. Tours will be offered on Saturday, June 29, at 11 a.m., and 1 and 2 p.m. Register for a Reunion Tour here.
