Port Elgin Legion Branch 340: Newsletter – November, 2024

Legion Pres. Bob Harrison

I guess we could say fall is here. The gardens are just about done; leaves are falling, but no frost yet. The cooler weather seems to bring in more members to the Branch.

Meat Draws and Bingo have been well attended and Friday nights at the bar have also been well attended.

The Poppy Campaign is well underway. Thank you to all those who helped with the Ad Mail campaign and those who helped with the Poppy Counter Box portion of the campaign by contacting and delivering counter top boxes to the local businesses.

The poster and literary competition is also underway. Please encourage youth to participate by submitting a colour and/or black and white poster or a poem and/or essay. There are cash prizes available. The judging will take place Saturday, November 9th.

I hope you have some time to drop in and catch up with old friends and make some new ones.
