Post-fire repairs to begin on Paisley trestle bridge

Bruce County has announced that repairs to the Willow Creek Bridge on the Bruce County Rail Trail near Paisley will begin this summer.

Trestle bridge is closed

The Willow Creek Bridge sustained heavy fire damage in the Spring of 2021, which closed the rail trail between Victoria Street in Paisley and the Bruce-Greenock North Road.

Repairs to the bridge’s beams, railings, and decking are scheduled to begin this summer with a completion date by October 2022.

Funding for the bridge repair project has been made possible with the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (O.C.I.F.) and the support of County Council.

As construction gets underway, the County will continue to provide updates on the project and re-opening timelines but the Bruce County Rail Trail detour currently remains in place.
