PROBUS makes a clean sweep

Saugeen Shores Men’s PROBUS gathered at the Port Elgin Curling Club on Tuesday, May 13th ready to don safety vests and make a clean sweep of Bruce Road 17 from Port Elgin to Burgoyne.

Each year, members of the club set out to make sure that the roadsides are free of litter and, this year 16 members worked in teams of two.

Bags were quickly filled with litter

Organizers Gord Eagles and Randy Schnaar expressed a “… heartfelt thank-you to all 16 volunteers who came out for the Road 17 cleanup!  The weather co-operated—though it was a bit on the warm side—and the flies certainly enjoyed our company. Thanks to your hard work and good spirits, the job was completed by 10:40 AM as planned. Your time and effort are very much appreciated.”

Following the clean-up, coffee and donuts at Tim Hortons were a well-deserved treat.
