Reindeer Romp a winner for local mental health initiatives

December 24th, Christmas Eve, was an ideal weather day for a romp outside – the annual Reindeer Romp that is.

The 19th annual FUNdraiser drew a crowd of more than 50 runners and walkers, along with some furry four-legged friends to raise funds for Bruce Shoreline in Saugeen Shores, the local Grey Bruce branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

This year’s goal was to raise $2,000 but that was surpassed when the outcome reached $2,300, that will help support mental health initiatives.

The Romp began at Southampton Fitness Corner and followed a new course of 2.5k or 5k.

The first part of the event was the key warm-up lead by Fitness Corner owner, Holly Vanderzwet.
