With hearts full and wheels spinning, Gran Fondo Lake Huron, presented by Bruce Power & Suppliers 2025 wrapped up another incredible ride this past weekend, bringing together over 900 cyclists, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for a day that celebrated health, community spirit, and the power of giving back.
Thanks to the tremendous efforts of everyone involved, this year’s Gran Fondo Lake Huron raised $430,000 in support of local healthcare through the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. This milestone brings the event’s total fundraising impact to over $2 million since its inception; an incredible testament to what can happen when a community comes together.
“It’s hard to put into words how proud and grateful we are,” said Tracy Murray, Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation . “From the cyclists who took part (many of whom traveled from all across the province to the area for the event), fundraised, and gave it their all, to our sponsors, volunteers, and the residents cheering on the riders, this is a truly special event that continues to grow in impact and heart every year.”
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the riders and their supporters, as well as the many volunteers who made the day run smoothly, safely, and full of so much fun. Special thanks to our sponsors whose continued support makes this event possible and to the communities along the routes who embraced the ride with open arms and warm welcomes. Many cyclists visiting from outside the area shared how touched they were by the cheers, signs, and smiling faces lining the roads.
“Bruce Power and its Supplier Partners are proud and committed sponsors of Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Brightshores Health System,” said James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Helping fund key services such as a CT Scanner, an upgraded mammography suite and new Mental Health and Wellness Centre for our community ensures we are doing what we can to advance health care and accessibility of critical services for the people in our community. ‘Securing our future’ is a fundamental value of Bruce Power’s, and it goes beyond the generation of electricity. Gran Fondo offers a fun and family-friendly way to bring people together for a good cause and power our words through action.”
Gran Fondo Lake Huron has become much more than a cycling event, it’s a community celebration that funds critical healthcare needs in our region for the Brightshores Health System while showcasing everything that makes this area so special: our stunning rural communities, beautiful shoreline, our generous spirit, and our commitment to one another.
Whether you rode 10K or 110K, volunteered, sponsored, fundraised, or simply stood on a sidewalk and rang a cowbell you were part of something big.
Thank you for riding with us, cheering with us, and making a difference with us.
We’ll see you in 2026!
