Roots of Bruce is an annual event for grade 5 & 6 students from Bruce & Grey counties taking place at the Walkerton Agricultural Society Buildings on April 4th & 5th. This is the 25th year for Roots of Bruce and this year’s theme is “Farmers: Footsteps to the Future”. The program is run by volunteers who understand the value of offering such a worthwhile learning experience to the students.
We try to teach students about the importance of our local agricultural community, food production and the numerous other industries connected to agriculture. Eating locally grown food and making healthy choices is promoted throughout the day.
Students can come for the day and take in many interactive learning stations for only $5.00 per student. All local schools and homeschooling programs are encouraged to participate in this wonderful learning opportunity.
This is a non-profit event focused on teaching the value of agriculture and related industries to our students.
