Rotary Huron Shore Run 2020 is cancelled

We are living through a very difficult time. Sadly, the organizing committee has decided there is no way we can safely run the Rotary Huron Shore Run on June 6th 2020. The health and safety of our participants and volunteers is paramount.

We have posted this notice on our website www.rotaryrun.net and our Facebook page as well as sending out a mass email to previous participants.

We wish to thank all of those who have signed up and donated on-line through RaceRoster. Participants have been given several options including a refund minus the administration fee, donation of their fee to our causes and free entrance next year. Our website will be open to accept donations until the end of June.

We encourage everyone in our community to continue to walk and run while maintaining a safe social distance. We are passionate about supporting our charities that provide vital community services. All donations will be directed to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, local Rotary Covid 19 projects and the Saugeen Track and Field Club.

We wish to give a huge thank you to our local sponsors who have supported our event both this and in previous years and to encourage all residents of Saugeen Shores to shop locally. Without our local businesses, there are many events for the betterment our community that would not occur.

Lastly, we are indebted to our organizing committee and all the volunteers who have enabled us to hold this community fundraising event for the past 32 years. Our committee members for 2020 include: John and June Van Bastelaar, Doug Gordon, Matt Barfoot, Neil Reid, Caroline Messier, Mary Halbert, Brent Wheeler, Chris Moric, Joan Vaughan and Tina Blair.

Thank you to all for your support. Stay healthy and safe. We hope to see you again on June 5th 2021.
