Rotary Huron Shore Run in its 31st year

There are only approximately eight weeks left until the 31st Rotary Huron Shore Run, Walk, Roll kicks off on June 1st (2019).

The event is always a highlight on the Lake Huron shoreline and, more importantly, is a major community fundraiser.

The run has supported the local Saugeen Memorial Hospital, the Saugeen Track & Field Club for youth and Rotary Club Projects.

This year, the focus will be on Mental Health and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

From the event’s early inception where only a few people took part, it has grown to almost 800 participants, many of whom are now international.

The half-marathon race is also accredited by the Ontario Roadrunners Association and  gives runners an opportunity to compete against their own time and qualify for a marathon.

Ann Dennier of Southampton has already begun training for the the half Marathon

The day of the event also features the Health & Wellness Fair organized by the Town of Saugeen Shores at the Southampton Coliseum that brings together health professionals, healing services, live demonstrations and more … along with the awards ceremony.
