Port Elgin Legion steps in every year to help Santa collect toys and, this year, it appears that everyone has been generous to the extreme.
Meridian Credit Union joined in to help the Legion provide toys to Iota Phi, a Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, an International non-profit women’s organization. There are 11 women in the local Chapter, serving the Saugeen Shores Community, and who undertake the annual Toy Drive.

From locally placed drop-off donation locations to businesses and organizations who collect toys, Iota Phi coordinates the toy effort for the Salvation Army.
On Tuesday, December 18th, the Salvation Army Food Bank was a buzz with Iota Phi members organizing the hundreds of toys that have been donated. All the toys were divided into age groups to make it easier for those families with children to choose toys suitable for interests, age and/or gender.
