By the end of today, August 31st, Saugeen First Nation (SON) will know who will fill the roles of Chief and Council members for the next two years.
Six Saugeen residents are running for the position of Chief:
Lester Anoquot (incumbent)
Stacey John
Dr. Bimadoshka (Dolly) Pucan
Conrad Ritchie
Janet Root
Brent Smith
For the nine Councilor positions, at last count, 43 residents had put their names forward.
The voting is being carried out in person at the James Mason Centre and also by mail for those who live off-reserve.
