This week, Saugeen Shores residents should receive a package of information from Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC). SLWC is working in partnership with the Town of Saugeen Shores to offer homeowners optional water or sewer line service repair plans. The plans can cover the costs of fixing broken, clogged or leaking water or sewer lines that connect their homes to the Town’s systems.
“We’re pleased to partner with SLWC because many homeowners don’t know they are responsible for repairs to the water and sewer lines that fall on their property,” said Amanda Froese, Director of Infrastructure and Development Services for the Town. “Or they assume most repairs are covered by the Town. Unfortunately, they are not. So, these plans can give residents peace of mind that they have access to a network of local contractors and the coverage they need in the event of an emergency.”
SLWC works with 65 municipalities across Ontario. They won a bid process conducted by Local Authorities Services (LAS), a not-for-profit organization created by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. LAS works with Ontario municipalities to help lower costs and find efficiencies in delivering municipal services through co-operative procurement efforts and other programs.
Homeowners will soon receive updated information in the mail about the available plans. There is no obligation to sign up for a plan. To show the partnership, the mailings will include the Saugeen Shores logo as well as SLWC’s logo.
