The Town of Saugeen Shores has received a grant of $1,928,125 through the Housing-Enabling Core Servicing (HECS) stream of the Provincial Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program (MHIP). The funding is allocated for the construction of Ridge Street from Ivings Drive to Bruce Road 25.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Province for providing this vital funding,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “This support will help increase connectivity within our community, foster sustainable growth, and bolster opportunities for future housing supply. Together, we are building a more vibrant and connected community for everyone.”
In alignment with the Town’s Transportation Master Plan, Ridge Street will establish connectivity between the Bluewater Estate subdivision and Bruce County Road 25 and will provide access to future housing lots. It will also serve as an alternative route parallel to HWY 21 for the Saugeen Shores community.
This project is approved in the Town’s 10-year capital plan for 2025 and 2026 with the Provincial grant covering 50% of the cost. Water and sanitary mains have already been installed on this Town-owned road allowance which is currently open for pedestrian use only.
