The Saugeen Shores Rotary Club hosted its second annual Cricket Tournament on Sunday, September 13th, bringing together cricket players, families, volunteers and community members for a full day of friendly competition and community spirit at the Saugeen Shores Cricket Pitch.
The tournament featured teams competing throughout the day, with the Saugeen Panthers taking home the championship trophy after an exciting day of cricket. The Port Elgin Warriors finished as the tournament’s runner-up.
Individual awards recognized outstanding performances throughout the tournament:
- 🏏 Best Batsman: Harminder Singh
- 🎯 Best Bowler: Hassan Khan
- 🧤 Best Fielder: Kanishk Sharma
- ⭐ MVP: Tanay Inchurkar
Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau was on hand to help present the trophies and recognize the players for their accomplishments, adding to the community spirit of the day.

The tournament was made possible with the support of Mary Brown’s Port Elgin, whose sponsorship helped make the community event possible.
The Rotary Club also extends its appreciation to the tournament organizers — Kanishk Sharma, Garry, Hamid, Wajeeh Anwar, Riaz Butt and Mandeep Singh — for their time and effort in bringing the tournament together.
The second annual cricket tournament is part of Saugeen Shores Rotary’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for people to come together, celebrate community and enjoy new experiences. Events like this also help showcase the diverse interests, cultures and talents that contribute to the vibrancy of Saugeen Shores.
