To the Constituents of Saugeen Shores,
Recent life events have given me the opportunity to pause and review my personal and professional priorities. As a result, I have made the decision to withdraw my nomination from the 2026 Municipal Election in order to pursue alternative aspirations.
Serving as your Municipal Councillor for the Saugeen Ward over the past 12 years has been an incredible privilege. As I look back on these three terms of Council, I am deeply proud of our collective accomplishments. During my tenure, Saugeen Shores has grown significantly, and it has been particularly satisfying to see key recreation and infrastructure projects come to fruition to serve our community.
While I am officially withdrawing my nomination for the position of Vice Deputy Mayor, I am fully endorsing Councillor Bud Halpin for this role, as he is abundantly qualified to serve our municipality in this capacity. Furthermore, I am proudly endorsing Mayor Luke Charbonneau for re-election for Mayor, a position in which he has consistently demonstrated exceptional competence and leadership.
I am very pleased to see the number and variety of passionate candidates on the slate for this upcoming election. I wish the next Council the wisdom, foresight, and dedication required to successfully lead Saugeen Shores into the future.

Finally I would like to thank the many people who have helped me during my tenure, particularly my wife Melinda, and my three daughters who have supported me 100% and made the necessary sacrifices in order for me to serve.
