Richelle Ritchie, Councillor with Saugeen Ojibwe Nation (SON), brought a message of encouragement and reconciliation.  “I encourage all indigenous youth to follow their own path and I am so proud of the students who are graduating here today.”

Among the graduates were those in the Specialist High Skills Major programs that include Agriculture, Arts and Culture and Construction.

In addition, there were 61 students who graduated as Ontario Scholars having achieved an average of 80 per cent or more in six or more subjects.

Throughout the evening, more than 70 scholarships and bursaries were also presented to students from several companies, organizations and individuals.

At the end of the evening, it was time for the Valedictorian speech.  Chosen by his peers and introduced virtually by fellow student, Ashley Hilbers, Rishab Roychowdhury, thanked the teachers and parents and reminisced many ‘inside’ stories that had his fellow graduates laughing.
