The Southampton Concert Band will start the music of summer by performing at the Fairy Lake bandshell on Sunday evening, June 30th, for the Saugeen Shores Sunday Summer Music Series.
The band is the first musical performance of this year’s series and will be providing a lengthy list of everyone’s favourite movie music memories with musical arrangements from movies from the 1940’s up to, and including, some of the biggest movie hits of the 2000s. Bring a comfy lawn chair and join us at Fairy Lake from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The band will also be performing the very next day for Canada Day on July 1st. They will be setup by the Big Flag at the bottom of High Street in Southampton and perform from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. “The weather looks like it will be fantastic,” says Band Director John Wills, “and from the crowds on the streets over the past few days, it will be packed, so bring your lawn chair and come early.”
As in last year, “Somethings Always Flying” will be performing from 4:00-6:30 p.m., the “Southampton Concert Band” from 6:30-8:00 p.m., and then a famous local Beatles tribute band, “Get Back” will be playing from 8:00 p.m. until the Fireworks that will start at dusk.
Don’t worry about dinner as the local Rotary Club of Saugeen Shores will be hosting their famous BBQ along with Southampton Rotary Club’s popular popcorn.
