The Silver Award of Merit, recognizes outstanding efforts in promoting Ontario-grown fruits and vegetables, supporting Ontario foods, and helping customers access locally produced products. The awards highlight the important role local retailers play in strengthening Ontario’s agri-food sector and supporting farmers and producers across the province.

For more than 35 years, the Foodland Ontario Retailer Awards have been celebrating the creative expression of produce managers and staff for their unique and innovative displays that promote locally grown food.

The annual program includes four categories of displays that promote locally grown and in season fruits and vegetables.

  • Ontario has one of the most diverse agri-food industries in Canada, producing more than 200 commodities, such as greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers, asparagus, berries, tender fruit, and apples.
  • For more than 45 years, Foodland Ontario has connected with families on how to recognize, prepare and enjoy locally grown foods.
