The weather may have been hot and humid but, for the Southport Ladies Golf League, it was time to celebrate Christmas in July on Tuesday (July 25th) as they raised much needed food for the local Food Bank.
The Food Bank’s shelves are filled at holiday times such as Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving but the summer months can be another story and, unfortunately, for those who use the Food Bank, it doesn’t matter what time of year it is.
Almost 80 golfers turned out and each golfer was asked to bring an item of food. Not only did they bring items, the golfers came through bringing bags of food.
