Southampton Rotary Dinner Auction – “The Results are In”

October 26th (2024) saw another packed event at the Walker House for the Southampton Rotary Club’s 21st annual dinner auction, a wonderful evening of good food, laughter, and, more importantly, outstanding community spirit.

                                               A gala affair

The theme of this year’s Gala event was ‘The Magic of Music-Supporting the Sounds of Tomorrow’, and guests generously came together to help Southampton Rotary ensure that all six Saugeen Shores school bands receive financial support to continue and expand their music programs.

Unique to this year’s event, in the weeks leading up to the auction, the Saugeen Shores community was encouraged to drop off any instruments they were no longer using, that could be tuned, cleaned, or refurbished for use in the schools’ instrumental music programs. We collected over 100 gently used instruments!

Southampton Rotary is very proud to announce that $63,000 was raised to support Rotary causes including $29,000 in the Fund-a-Need portion of the auction, for the local school music programs.

Live auction a fun time

We genuinely thank all who supported this worthwhile event, either by donating silent and live auction items or musical instruments, or with your generous financial support.
