The 40 edition of the Port Elgin Super Spiel is continuing at the Port Elgin Curling Club this weekend. A great lineup of teams which includes nine teams that are ranked in the top 100 in the world.
While most teams come from Ontario as teams try to gain points to qualify for the Ontario Tankard, which will be played in Port Elgin in January, 2023, there is a team from each of Japan, USA and NFLD.
Spectators are welcome and there is no admission charge.
Results so far saw top-seated Howard of Penetanguishene and Mooibroek of Whitby lose their first games but they bounced back to win their second.
Ferris, the defending champion from Grimsby and Derulelle from Harriston lead the event at 3-0.
Play continues today with the finals being played on Sunday.
