The Tara Branch of the Bruce County Public Library (BCPL) is closing from December 8th to the 22nd (2025) to allow for the installation of new flooring and upgraded shelving. During this period, the Branch and book drop will be unavailable.
Library staff will contact patrons with existing holds to arrange an alternate pick-up date or location. Patrons may return borrowed materials to any of our other branches. Find a full list of Branches, hours, and services on our website at library.brucecounty.on.ca. If you are unable to return borrowed materials to another Branch, simply hold on to them until the Branch reopens.
During the Tara Branch closure, BCPL’s Digital Library is available 24/7, offering access to eBooks, audiobooks, streaming content, newspapers, and other digital resources.
Upon completion, Bruce County Public Library will invite the community to view the updates at an Open House event.
BCPL appreciates the community’s patience as we work to create a welcoming space for everyone.
