The benefits of singing

Southampton United Church is expanding its choir.   Do you like to sing? Then why not join the choir.  Not sure?  Come out and join the group for a rehearsal or two.

Don’t know how to read music?  All that’s needed is a willing voice and heart, we can help with the rest.

It’s a well known fact that singing is a physical and emotional feel-good activity. Why? Physically singing releases endorphins, the feel-good chemicals in the brain. Because the deep breathing needed to sing draws more oxygen into the blood and causes better circulation, it’s also an aerobic activity and a natural stress-reducer.
