The Canadian Big Band weekend in Saugeen Shores is only days away.
The weekend begins on Thursday, September 14th, with the Musical ‘The Night Guy came to Town‘ at the Southampton Town Hall.
The 1935 Night will be replicated with local residents acting the parts of their family members and local musicians performing as the Guy Lombardo Royal Canadians. The ‘interactive evening’ will include audience participation so dig out those dancing shoes and join in the fun.
The weekend celebrations of live music and dance continue Friday night, September 15th, with Jazz and Blues at a variety of venues throughout Port Elgin and Southampton starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Queen’s bar & grill, Three Sheets Brewery and the Southampton Inn. Then, at 8:00 p.m. it’s on to the Southampton Legion, the Town Hall, Outlaw and the Wismer House. No need to worry about getting round to all the venues when a $25 passport includes a FREE shuttle. Tickets are available at: www.canadianbigband.com
Saturday is the day to put on your dancing shoes when the Big Dance Event starts at Lakeshore Recreation Centre. Two shows will feature the popular Lulu’s Band and Men in Black Hornline at 2:00 p.m. and, in the evening, it’s the Canadian Big Bid at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at: www.canadianbigband.com
Rounding off the weekend, it’s time for brunch and the sounds of Dixieland with The Midnight Ramblers at the Southampton Golf and Country Club. Tickets are available at: www.canadianbigband.com
