Toonies for TOM – a Rotary fun-filled FUNdraiser to help Bring TOM to Town

What’s TOONIES for TOM?

The Rotary Club of Southampton is helping to raise funds for the CT Scanner, ‘Bring Tom to Town’ Campaign for our Hospital at a fun and inclusive event called TOONIES for TOM.

Most people can spare a Toonie for a good cause especially when it benefits everyone in our community. It specifically gives children and young adults the opportunity to participate.

About the Event:

On Sunday June 12th, 2022 from 11 am to 3 pm, the community will be asked to collect toonies in the hope, we can collect enough that if we laid them in a line it would go from the Southampton Flag to the Hospital.

The first 150 people to bring 10 Toonies or more or a donation of $20 or more on the day will receive a commemorative TOONIES for TOM limited edition tote bag courtesy of Hill’s Insurance.

Where?

High Street, Southampton, which will be closed to traffic from Albert Street (Hwy 21) to Grosvenor Street from 9 am to 4 pm. We ask you to please remove your vehicle (if applicable) before 9 am.

The inspiration for this fundraiser came from the late Marnie Cammidge who, at the age of 11, organized laying dimes on High Street to raise funds for a hospital in Southampton. The ceremonial Toonie Toss will be at 11am when Co-Chair of the ‘Bring TOM to Town Campaign, James Scongack, will introduce Marnie’s daughter Kate to toss the first toonie.

Southampton Rotary looks forward to welcoming everyone to this community event come rain or shine. More information is available at www.southamptonrotary.com
