U13 Saugeen Shores Girls are Gold Medalists in 2024 Northern Qualifier

This past weekend Lamont Sports Park in Saugeen Shores hosted one of four provincial qualifiers for the Girls PWSA U13 Division. Teams from Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and Wyoming travelled to town to determine which division they would be in for August 9th to 11th Provincial Grand Championships.
The Saugeen Golf Club U13 Saugeen Shores Senior Sting began the weekend with a bang defeating the Stratford Flames 17-7 on Friday Evening. They then followed that with a close 10-9 victory over the Guelph Gators. Saturday afternoon saw the team take on the Junior team winning with a decisive 16-0 win. Semi final #1 then saw the girls play the Waterloo Ghosts where they won handily 19-2.
On Sunday afternoon the ladies played Waterloo for a second time in the final and after 13 run first inning, the girls walked away with a 15-0 win becoming the Gold Medalists at this years Northern Qualifier.
Saugeen now heads to Windsor in two weeks time where they will compete in the A division and will go up against the East Gwillumbury Rise, the Barrie Storm and the Cambridge Coyotes in Preliminary Play!
Other local teams that qualify for provincials will see the Junior Sting play in the B division while the Chepstow diamonds and the Tara Twins have qualified to play in the C division at Grand Championships.
