Weapons investigation in Southampton leads to more charges

On March 16th, 2023 at 2:20pm Officers were dispatched to check on the wellbeing of a male who was currently at a local laundromat in Southampton.
Upon arrival Police located a washroom door locked and breached the door of the washroom and located a male laying on the floor of the room with a firearm situated on the counter.
The firearm was removed from the area and the male was placed under arrest. Search incident to arrest located suspected Fentanyl and Methamphetamine.
As a result of this incident, a 25-year-old of Owen Sound has been charged with Possession of Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purposes , Possession of Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order and Failure to comply with Release Order.
He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing.
(The accused has 23 outstanding charges before the courts from previous incidents)
