100 Women Who Care do it again with record breaking donation

The women of 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce have once again made an incredible impact in our community. As a result of our May 31st meeting, we proudly presented our largest donation to date – a cheque for $34,400 to Saugeen Hospice Inc.

(L-R)Rose Austin, Elle Locke, Jenny Iserman, Ken Brown, First Chair Saugeen Hospice, Monica O’Hagan, Nancy MacKay, Beverlee Gateman, Bobbi Phillippi, Lynda Legge and Carol Kraft, Chair Saugeen Hospice.

As a result of our May meeting, we have donated funds toward the purchase of a cuddle bed for the future Saugeen Hospice. This specially designed bed allows loved ones to remain close and comfortable with the people they cherish most, even in their final days. The organization is nearing its fundraising goal of $10 million, at which point construction will begin. Once built, the hospice will offer compassionate, professional end-of-life care in a dedicated residence serving the southern areas of Grey and Bruce counties.

The need for these services is significant, and having them available closer to home, offered with dignity, care, and comfort will be a profound benefit to our communities. To find out more go to https://www.saugeenhospice.ca/

100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce is  powerful group of generous, community-minded women who meet just four times a yearwith each member committing to a $100 donation per meeting. One hour, four times a year—that’s all it takes to be part of something truly meaningful.

How 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce Works
Meetings are held in person at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre, a beautiful space generously donated for our use. We also offer Zoom access for those who prefer to join remotely. Can’t make it to the meeting? No problem. A summary is shared afterward, and every member receives a link to vote. The charity with the most votes receives the entire donation directly—allowing them to take on projects they might not otherwise be able to fund.

Last year alone, $107,100 was donated to four deserving local organizations. We are on our way to surpass that this year.

Why Join?

·         Make a tangible difference in the lives of others

Any member in good standing (who has donated at least once and plans to participate in a minimum of four meetings) can nominate a charity. At each gathering, three charities are presented by members. These charities are randomly drawn at a Steering Committee Meeting prior to the meeting. After the presentations, voting takes place via a SurveyMonkey link, and the charity with the most votes receives the full amount collected.
