25th Anniversary Amalgamation celebrations kicked off on Friday

Saugeen Shores 25th Anniversary amalgamation celebration kicked off on Friday, August 9th, with two mini-celebrations in Southampton and Port Elgin.

Port Elgin’s celebration hosted by the Business Improvement Association (BIA) was directed more toward adults and featured two well-known bands, ‘The Almost Hip’ and the ‘Mob Barley and the Railers’ (a tribute to Bob Marley).  The event took place in the Green Street parking lot where hundreds of people enjoyed the music, the food and the beer provided by the Queen’s hotel.

In Southampton, the celebration included a popular event specifically for children – the Foaming Dragon, where youngsters could get lost in the bubbles.
