Girls Rock Event!
The Port Elgin Curling Club is proud to have been chosen to host a Girls Rock Event.
Girls Rock has been developed by Curling Canada, in co-operation with CurlOn and originally funded by Sport Canada. This program is designed to introduce girls to the sport we love, and women into leadership roles.
After piloted success in the communities of Prince George, Thunder Bay, St. John’s and Kamloops, The Girls Rock program is ready to rock across Canada.
Saturday, February 24th is Curling Day in Canada and the Port Elgin Curling Club will provide a day of instruction and fun with a certified instructor for 32 girls between the ages of 9-18. It will run from 10am – 4pm and it is FREE. All you need is warm, stretchy clothing, clean shoes, mitts/gloves & a helmet. We will provide the curling equipment and lunch.
