Police have confirmed that the identity of the human remains recovered in the Southampton Harbour are those of 32-year-old Brendan Martin who was reported missing on January 20, 2025 and who was last seen in the early morning hours on January 18th in Southampton.
On March 16th, human remains were located by members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service (SSPS) Criminal Investigations and Drug Unit, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, OPP USAR CBRNE Response Team and the OPP Forensic Identification Services that assisted with the recovery.
The joint investigation is continuing by the SSPS and OPP in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensie Pathology.
