Known for his philanthropy when it comes to supporting the local hospital, each Spring in May, Armen Higgins also holds a ‘coffee’ FUNdraiser with all proceeds going to the local hospital.

This year however, he decided to also hold an ‘End of the Season’ roast chicken dinner take-out fundraiser on Saturday, September 27th (2025).

There were 165 pre-ordered dinners sold and dessert sales at $2.00 each went into the Hospital donation jar along with donations from passers-by.

Armen donated $4,380 and the donation jar on the street collected $415 for a total of $4,795.

“We have to thank the community for their support,” said Higgins. “It means a lot in helping to keep our health care local.”

Funds raised by the Auxiliary go toward helping the local hospital with equipment needs, as the provincial government does not provide any funding to hospitals for equipment.
