OPP investigate head-on crash on Hwy. 21 – One Driver Pronounced Deceased

One person is deceased following a head-on collision on Highway 21 south of Port Elgin.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at approximately 5:23 p.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Fire, and Emergency Medical Services responded to a collision on Highway 21 involving a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and pickup truck.

The driver of the SUV suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

South Bruce OPP along with members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team continue to investigate the collision.

Highway 21 was closed for several hours between Bruce Road 40 and Concession 2 to allow for investigation.

Investigators are asking residents and businesses along with members of the motoring public to check their security surveillance or dash camera footage in the event that they captured the collision, or the vehicles involved.
