The author would like to show his appreciation to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155 Southampton for the recent fundraising event held on August 29th (2026).

My sincere thanks for allowing me to be a small part of a truly successful event.
Endless compliments and encouragement from long-term residents, seasonal residents,
Legion members and tourists, young and old.
Your selfless generosity of time and talent made the event. A real gift to the quality of life in Southampton. Folks will rememeber this!
And what dedication. Im guessing some put in a 15-hour day and were still cleaning up at the end, on top of all the work they had already done in the days before.
I was too tired for a celebratory after-party, but I did sleep well ,,, tired and happy!
I trust Mary Lou will extend thanks to the outstanding team of volunteers she mustered for the event. Efficient, thoughtful and kind! A great group to work with and critical to the success of the event.
