Wiarton’s Bluewater Park will be the host location for an afternoon car show and the finishing point for the Sixth Annual Keppel Colour Tour on Sunday, September 27th.
This unique car tour, sponsored by Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce, will begin at 11:00 a.m. from four locations. Classic cars, collector vehicles and members of the public driving their everyday vehicles are all welcome to participate.
Volunteers from Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce will be stationed at each starting location to distribute road maps featuring the scenic back roads of the historic Keppel Township peninsula.
Tour participants may begin their journey from one of four locations:
> Cunningham Park in Hepworth
> Elsie’s Diner on Highway 6 at Springmount
> The Plex parking lot in Port Elgin
> Bluewater Park in Wiarton
The maps will introduce motorists to a variety of routes designed to showcase some of the most scenic and colourful drives in the region.
This is an introductory scramble tour, encouraging participants to travel at their own pace, either individually or in groups. Surprise opportunities abound throughout the journey and motorists are encouraged to make plenty of stops along the way and keep their cameras ready.

The map identifies several points of particular interest where participants may wish to stop, linger and enjoy the views, local attractions and spectacular scenery.
The Grey Bruce Crime Stoppers map is your key to discovering beauty beyond compare. Motorists are not expected to travel every road in a single afternoon. Instead, participants are encouraged to keep the map and use it as an invitation to return again and again throughout the year to experience everything the old Keppel Township peninsula has to offer in every season.
A Storied Landscape
The lands of the Keppel peninsula represent a colourful and historic part of Grey County. From the original 1857 purchase from the Chippewa (Ojibway) Nation to the subsequent sale of surveyed 100-acre parcels, the township has gradually revealed the spectacular scenic vistas enjoyed by residents and visitors today.
With Colpoys Bay to the west, Georgian Bay to the north, and Owen Sound Harbour to the east, this peninsula offers an extraordinary variety of breathtaking landscapes within a remarkably compact area.
It is this condensed beauty of winding roads, waterfront views, towering escarpments and colourful countryside that organizers hope motorists will take the time to discover and appreciate during the Sixth Annual Keppel Colour Tour.
The afternoon journey will conclude at Bluewater Park in Wiarton, where participants and visitors can gather to enjoy the car show and share stories from a memorable day exploring one of Grey and Bruce County’s most scenic regions.
