The rain that had been threatening throughout the afternoon held off on Sunday, October 4th so that the Legion Parking Lot Car Show could go ahead.

More than 60 cars and trucks filled the Southampton Legion Parking lot for what organizers said was a ‘tribute’ car show in appreciation of Gary Brown. Brown, (a.k.a. Downtown Gary Brown and Mr. Cruise) has long been the driving force behind the Thursday night Cruisers Car Show held in Southampton Thursday evenings throughout the summer.
The car show and 50/50 draw each Thursday is in support of the local Southampton Hospital Foundation and, over the 32 years of the four-hour events, it has raised $334,331.
A 50/50 draw was also held by the Southampton Legion and the Ladies Double Dart League on Sunday with the winner, Lorne Myers, taking home half the pot of $130.
