A local birthday celebrates local health care

People choose to celebrate their birthdays in a variety of ways.

From birthday cake with candles and presents, to dinners and celebrations with friends, birthdays can become an extravagant affair.

In Southampton (Saugeen Shores) however, a birthday can not only be a CELEBration but a FUNdraiser.

‘Hardy’ Henry celebrated his ‘milestone’ 60th birthday with a FUNdraiser that resulted in $1,379 raised for the local Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

“We all need local health care,” says Henry, “my next big donation will be at my 65th”.

Hospital Foundation Executive Director, Tracy Murray, says that every donation matters.  “This just goes to show what and how people can contribute to local health care. The Henry(s) also donated from their wedding reception by asking guests to contribute donations instead of gifts.”
