A Ministerial Message: Faith Lutheran Church Port Elgin – Reasons to Celebrate

There were reasons to celebrate at Faith Lutheran Church Port Elgin on August 31st (2025).

It was Dr. Seuss Sunday, when the entire service is done in Dr. Seuss rhyme.

It was also backpack Sunday when several young people brought in their backpacks to be blessed by Pastor Dar Rath in preparation for their returning to school in the week ahead.

It was also a momentous occasion for Music Director, Adrian Little, as he prepares to enter another chapter in life.  Already an accomplished musician who plays several instruments and with a degree in music performance, Little will be returning to school once again as he heads off to university to become a lawyer.

Kenneth Johnson, a retired lawyer and member of the congregation, presented his Goddess of Law and Justice statue to Little.  “It was given to me when I became a lawyer 60 years ago and, now, it’s time she was passed on and I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Adrian.”
